F1 Breakfast - Azerbaijan GP (April 29nd)

Well, what a great GP they ran in China! Totally worth getting up for. Better yet, ESPN showed it flag to flag without a commercial break, just like the Bahrain GP.

Looks like we have a racing season on our hands boys & girls! Don't miss our official F1 Breakfast race of the year - the Azerbaijan GP in Baku.  Should be really interesting to see. This will be one of the few races this year starting at 8:00 a.m..  Actually race start is 8:10, still not sure how much pre-race ESPN will show.

When:   April 29th, 8:00 a.m. (show up earlier if you want)
Where:  Azalea Inn & Time Out Sports Bar
              2344 E. Little Creek Rd.

F1 Brunch - Bahrain GP (April 8th)

F1 Fans -

Oh it's on - our first event of the 2018 Grand Prix season will be, as usual, the Bahrain Brunch.  This year it will be broadcast on ESPN2, and from what I can tell, there will be ZERO minutes of pre-race televised by them.  Ok, I take that back.  The race actually starts at 11:10 this year, so there will be all of 10 minutes of pre-race shown.  I am fired up...and Liberty Media will be hearing from me!

Hope to see you there race fans!

When:   April 8th, 11:00 a.m. (show up earlier if you want)
Where:  Azalea Inn & Time Out Sports Bar
              2344 E. Little Creek Rd.

F1 Breakfast is back for 2018!

Hampton Roads F1 Fans:

First lets discuss what's the same this year:

Mercedes still has the 'fastest' car with the special qualifying engine mode (now known as 'party mode') that they can't admit to because it would immediately be banned.  Still can't pass the Ferrari in normal race mode however.

Now what's different:

The F1 logo and opening sequence (just okay), ESPN 'coverage' (which is HORRIBLE by the way, totally butchering the top-shelf SKY coverage), and Haas kicking mid-field butt (let's not talk about their pit stop strategy). Best of all, most European GP's have been moved to 9 a.m. our time!  Woo-Hoo!  We now get to sleep in!  Our first race will be next Sunday for the Bahrain Brunch, starting at 11 a.m..  Stay tuned for the announcement posting!
